The foundation stone for the construction of
full-fledged building which is spread across 20 acres was laid in 1981. This
year the college has completed its 43 years of pioneering excellence in the
field of education. Initially, the college started with two streams – Arts and
Commerce with a handful of students. The Science faculty was added up to the
institution during the session 1992-93 which serves the home for advancement. M.com and M.A. (His) introduced in 2007 and 2017 respectively. Two new post graduate courses namely M.Sc. (Geography) & M.A. (Eng.) started in year 2021.
Two professional courses PGDCA and B.C.A. get started in year 2019 and 2021 respectively.
The National Education Policy of 2020 has been implemented within the college, commencing from the ongoing academic session, namely 2023-24. This initiative is designed with the overarching goal of affording equal significance to diverse academic disciplines, including but not limited to Science, Social Sciences, Arts, Languages, Sports, and Mathematics. In line with this comprehensive approach, students are exposed to newly introduced courses such as Multi-disciplinary Courses (MDC), Ability Enhancement Programs (AEP), Value Added Courses (VAC), and Skill Enhancement Programs (SEP). The curriculum of these courses is strategically crafted to nurture holistic personality development and foster critical thinking among students.
The
institution started its journey with only a handful of students which has now
expanded into a total strength of 2494. It has developed into a ‘value
creating’ and sustainable society over the years. Now the college has acquired
the position of a renowned institution with very high qualitative output.
