13-03-2024 Sensitization Program against Sexual Harassment

INTERNAL COMPLAINTS COMMITTEE of Government P.G. College, Naraingarh organised an orientation and sensitisation programme for the students and faculty members on 13.03.2024. It was organised by chairperson Dr.Seema Rana and team ICC and IQAC, under the guidance of principal Bhupinder K .Dhiman . Advocate Anju Sharma was the resource person and she spoke in detail about the legal framework ,prevailing laws and also the steps taken towards the safety of women in the institute and urged the students to utilise the opportunity to understand the law. They were also enlightened on the Sexual harassment of women at work place (Prevention, prohibition and redressal) Act 2013 with various examples from different walks of life. The UGC Regulations regarding the Sexual Harassment at Work Place, role of Internal Complaint Committee (ICC) in the college ,preventive measures ,process of making complaints of sexual harassments, process of conducting the enquiry ,investigation ,punishments, action against frivolous complaints etc. were also discussed. The programme was followed by an open discussion. Students responded very positively throughout the programme.The question answer session at the end of orientation program was very fruitful and interactive ,as resource person addressed all the queries to the satisfaction of the participants.
