The IQAC and Computer Science Department under the guidance of Principal Dr. Ajit Singh and the leadership of officiating Principal Mr. Joga Singh organized a career counseling workshop on 29 November 2024 at Government College Naraingarh. The session conducted by Ms. Ramanpreet and her team from the Haryana Institute of Information Technology HIIT Ambala focused on equipping students with knowledge about evolving career opportunities and the importance of skill development in various fields. Ms. Ramanpreet began the session by discussing the dynamic career landscape emphasizing how industries today demand a mix of technical expertise creativity and adaptability. She elaborated on career options in Information Technology highlighting roles in software development cybersecurity data analytics and cloud computing. Students were urged to pursue certifications and practical training to excel in these high demand fields. Additionally she spoke about creative industries such as VFX animation and digital design showcasing their rapid growth in areas like gaming entertainment and advertising. These fields she explained are ideal for students who wish to combine creativity with technology to create impactful solutions. The session also explored career options in hospitality and healthcare sectors witnessing significant global expansion. Ms. Ramanpreet highlighted roles in hotel management event planning and healthcare administration which cater to individuals with strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Furthermore she introduced students to emerging fields such as renewable energy environmental management and entrepreneurship urging them to consider sustainable and innovative career paths that align with global trends. A key aspect of the session was the emphasis on the importance of internships in bridging the gap between academics and industry. Ms. Ramanpreet explained that a 4 to 6 week internship is mandatory for students after their 2nd and 4th semesters providing them with invaluable practical exposure. She assured students that HIIT offers free training in various fields during these internships ensuring that every student has access to quality learning opportunities. The session concluded with an interactive segment where students sought guidance on aligning their academic pursuits with their career aspirations and preparing for industry challenges. Ms. Reema Sandhu and Dr. Rajeev Goel delivered a vote of thanks expressing their appreciation to Ms. Ramanpreet and her team for their insightful lectures and valuable advice. This event organized collaboratively by the IQAC and Computer Science Department left students inspired and better prepared to navigate the diverse career opportunities available in todays dynamic professional world.
