During the concluding week of the sixth National Nutrition Month 2023, a quiz and a collage-making competition were orchestrated by the women's cell on September 29, 2023. A total of fifteen students engaged in the quiz, while the collage competition saw participation from different classes, with entrants crafting compelling collages aligned with the specified theme. Addressing the gathering, the Principal articulated that the annual observance of September as Nutrition Month aims to heighten health awareness across the nation, spotlighting the pivotal role of women and children in society and the imperative of nurturing their health and nutrition. Prof. Renu Kumari, the program's Convener, lauded the initiative of National Nutrition Month for its role in fostering nutrition and diet awareness, and advocated for the adoption of nutritious dietary habits. The quiz competition saw Gurcharan from PGDCA, Varsha from B.Com final, and Taruna from PGDCA securing the first position. The second position was clinched by Tushal from B.Com first year, Tushar Sharma from BA final, and Abhishek from BA final, while the third position was awarded to Simran from B.Com second year, Shivani from M.Com, and Ritikesh from BAI. In the collage-making competition, Ritikesh emerged as the victor, followed by Vansh Garg from B.Com final in second place, and Shweta from M.Com first year in third place. The Principal honored the victorious students with certificates. The jury, consisting of Prof. Sanjeev Kumar, Prof. Renu Kumari, and Prof. Chanchal, administered an oath to spread nutritional awareness at the close of the program. The assembly was encouraged by the college principal, staff, and students to uphold nutritional well-being, disseminate the ethos of healthy eating, abstain from junk food and harmful beverages, and embrace wholesome practices such as consuming green leafy vegetables and fruits, adhering to safe cooking and eating habits, maintaining hydration, and regular hand washing. The Women's Cell Committee staff members, Ms. Neha Walia, Dr. Sonu, Ms. Indu Dhiman, and Sapna Saini were in attendance, endorsing the initiative to promote nutritional cognizance and encourage healthier living practices amongst the community.
