On 28 September 2024 the Departments of Physics and Mathematics at Govt P.G. College Naraingarh organized a Faculty Development Program under the guidance of Principal Dr. Ajit Singh and Officiating Principal Mr. Joga Singh.
Resource person Dr. Rajiv Goel from the Computer Department provided a detailed introduction to its basics installation and practical use of Maxima software. This FDP was conducted in line with the National Education Policy 2020 which has updated the syllabus for Mathematics and Physical Sciences to include the use of Maxima software in practical classes. During the session topics like symbolic computation solving mathematical problems and using Maxima for algebraic calculations were discussed. The FDP also included hands on sessions for the participants ensuring they gained practical experience with the software.
Faculty members from the Physics and Mathematics departments participated with great enthusiasm and 30 students from B.Sc. also joined to learn about the software benefits. The program aimed to familiarize both teachers and students with this new tool helping them prepare for its implementation in their curriculum.
