13-04-2023 Speech & Painting competition on the occasion of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's birth anniversary

On the occasion of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's birth anniversary on April 13th, 2023, the Important Days Celebrations Committee collaborated with the History Department to organize a speech and painting competition. About 50 students from various streams actively participated in these competitions. The program was chaired by the Principal, Ms. Promila Malik, who congratulated everyone and appreciated Dr. Ambedkar's contribution to the Indian constitution. The Head of the History Department, Prof. Sanjeev Kumar, spoke about Dr. Ambedkar's life struggles and his message of equality, freedom, and mutual brotherhood through the Constitution. Professor Renu Kumari, the convenor of the Important Day Celebrations Committee, appreciated Dr. Ambedkar's reforms towards women and his inspiring success in overcoming struggles at every stage of life.
The winners of the speech and painting competitions were announced and awarded with prizes and certificates by the Principal. Parul, a B.Sc final year student, secured the first position in the speech competition, followed by Rajni Devi, a BA II year student, and Saurabh, a B.Com student in the second and third positions, respectively. In the painting competition, Tamanna, a B.Com first-year student, secured the first position, followed by Navneet Kaur, a B.Sc first-year student, and Shivani, a B.Com final year student, in the second and third positions, respectively. Payal, Aastha (M.Com), and Bhavna (B.Com) were also honored with consolation prizes and certificates.
All participants in the competitions were felicitated, and the stage was moderated by Aastha and Payal, students of M.Com final year. Dr. Suman Lata, Professor Chanchal, Prof. Ashima Thakur, and Prof. Parveen Kumar played the role of the jury. The staff members of the Important Day Celebrations Committee and History Department extended their full cooperation in making the program a success, including Prof. Mridul, Prof. Naresh, Dr. Neelu, Dr. Baldev, Dr. Priya Malik, Prof. Rajinder, Prof. Nisha, and Prof. Sonia Dua. Dr. Satish and Dr. Rakesh Kumar were also present on this occasion.
