Date: 04-Feb-2023 Time: 11.00 AM- 2.30 PM Total Participants: 70 (Teaching & Non-Teaching Staff) Mode: Offline (College Seminar Hall) One Day workshop on National Education Policy (NEP-2020) was organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of college, under the dynamic leadership and guidance of Principal Ms. Promila Malik. The workshop was to sensitize College Staff members about NEP-2020. The theme of the Workshop was “Restructuring Curriculum Framework for Higher Education: Effective Implementation of NEP-2020” The workshop was conducted in two sessions where in the first session Principal Mrs. Promila Malik “Sustainable Development Goal-4” of UN and “Key Features of NEP-2020 in Higher Education”. She explained that how the NEP is focusing towards the achievement of SDG-4 by increase the number of youth and adults who have relevant skills, including technical and vocational skills, for employment, decent jobs and entrepreneurship. She also discussed about the “Multiple-Entry Multiple-Exit”, “Academic Bank of Credits (ABC)”, “Multidisciplinary Curriculum” & “Emphasis on Concept understanding along with fostering Creative & Critical Thinking” among the pupil. She also mentioned that, NEP 2020 has put in place systematic reforms that would help in restoring the high respect and status for teachers and further stated that, with NEP 2020, would bring Flexibility in education by providing “WHAT TO LEARN”, “HOW TO LEARN”, “WHERE TO LEARN”, “WHEN TO LEARN” & “WHICH PACE TO LEARN”. In the second session, Principal, Mrs. Promila Malik focused on “Value Based & Inculcation of Vocational Education” in NEP-2020. She also stressed that NEP 2020 envisages the use of technology in higher education and has greater autonomy and a multidisciplinary approach. She further explained that the regulatory system of higher education will ensure that the distinct functions of regulation, accreditation, funding, and academic standard setting will be performed by distinct, independent, and empowered bodies (namely Regulation (NHERC), Accreditation (NAC), Funding (HEGC), and Academic Standard Setting (GEC)). These four structures will be set up as four independent verticals within one umbrella institution, the Higher Education Commission of India (HECI), and will be based on transparent public disclosure & extensively use technology to reduce the human interface to ensure efficiency & transparency in the work. At the end of the second session, the house was open for an interactive session. The session ended with a vote of thanks.
